This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of a comprehensive HSEQ strategy applicable to all EPC/EPCM projects.

• Act as the primary HSEQ consultant for Project Directors and the leadership teams of EPC/EPCM.

• Promote the implementation of Ramboll’s HSEQ program, ensuring that expectations are translated into project-specific behaviors, controls, and leadership practices.

• Offer HSEQ support during proposal development and contract negotiations.

• Develop HSEQ organizational structures, execution plans, readiness criteria, and governance frameworks.

• Harmonize HSEQ expectations among contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and external stakeholders.

• Direct contractor onboarding, alignment sessions, audits, and ongoing performance evaluations.

• Integrate HSEQ requirements into contracting strategies, procurement materials, bid documents, mobilization plans, and contractor management procedures.

• Ensure governance and oversight for hazard identification, construction risk assessments, high-risk work evaluations, and site controls.

• Assess controls for lifting operations, electrical tasks, confined space entries, work at heights, ground disturbances, energization, commissioning, and simultaneous operations.

• Provide supervision and escalation assistance for high-potential or severe incidents, and incorporate lessons learned into practices.

• Conduct site visits, leadership interactions, and assurance evaluations.

• Mentor project and contractor leadership teams while advocating for proactive safety practices, learning, and ongoing improvement.

• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, client stipulations, and Ramboll’s HSEQ standards.

• Represent Ramboll during client audits, regulatory inspections, and governance discussions.

• Create HSEQ performance reports utilizing both leading and lagging indicators.

• Convert performance metrics into actionable insights, recommendations, and strategies for stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of progressive on-site HSEQ leadership experience with significant exposure to large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.

• Strong background in supporting multi-contractor, high-risk industrial construction settings.

• Proven capability to influence others without direct authority.

• Demonstrated experience in facilitating construction management delivery models where HSEQ performance is achieved through contractor execution and effective client/contractor interface management.

• Working knowledge of HSEQ controls during the construction phase, contractor management, incident investigation, assurance practices, and regulatory compliance.

• Willingness to travel frequently to project locations and engage effectively with field teams, project leadership, clients, and contractors.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder relationship management abilities.

• Applicants must currently have authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• Preferred: Professional certifications (CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, CRSP, or equivalent).

• Preferred: Experience in energy transition, power, renewables, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or major infrastructure projects.

• Preferred: Background in supporting owner’s EPC/EPCM models across multiple concurrent projects.

• Preferred: International or remote project experience.
