This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead the HSEQ strategy across the portfolio, ensuring consistent standards throughout EPC/EPCM projects.
• Provide counsel to Project Directors and leadership teams in EPC/EPCM regarding HSEQ issues.
• Promote the adoption of Ramboll’s HSEQ program and convert expectations into project-level controls and leadership practices.
• Offer HSEQ guidance during proposal submissions and contract discussions.
• Create organizational structures for HSEQ, defining roles, responsibilities, interfaces, and governance models.
• Formulate standardized HSEQ execution plans encompassing engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover phases.
• Set expectations for construction readiness, including contractor mobilization, competency assurance, risk assessments, and field controls.
• Harmonize HSEQ standards and performance metrics across contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third parties.
• Oversee contractor onboarding, alignment sessions, audits, and performance evaluations.
• Integrate HSEQ requirements into contracting strategies, procurement documents, bid proposals, mobilization plans, and contractor management processes.
• Ensure governance and assurance over hazard identification, construction risk assessments, reviews of high-risk work, and site controls.
• Assess controls for high-risk activities such as lifting, electrical work, confined space entry, work at height, ground disturbance, energization, commissioning, and simultaneous operations.
• Provide oversight and escalation support for incidents with high potential or severity.
• Conduct site visits, engage with leadership, and perform assurance reviews.
• Mentor project and contractor leadership teams to enhance safety leadership and leading indicators.
• Foster open communication, psychological safety, learning, and ongoing improvement.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, client requirements, and Ramboll standards.
• Represent Ramboll during client audits, regulatory inspections, and governance meetings.
• Develop HSEQ performance reporting metrics utilizing leading and lagging indicators.
• Convert performance data into actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in on-site HSEQ with significant exposure to large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.
• Strong experience in supporting multi-contractor, high-risk industrial construction environments.
• Established ability to influence others without direct authority.
• Proven track record in supporting construction management delivery models, contractor execution, and client/contractor interface management.
• Familiarity with HSEQ controls during the construction phase, contractor management, incident investigation, assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States full-time.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, or CRSP are preferred.
• Experience in energy transition, power, renewable energy, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or major infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Experience in supporting owner’s EPC/EPCM models across multiple simultaneous projects is preferred.
• International or remote project experience is preferred.
