This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee a comprehensive HSEQ strategy across EPC/EPCM projects.

• Act as the principal HSEQ consultant for Project Directors and EPC/EPCM leadership teams.

• Promote the implementation of Ramboll’s HSEQ program and convert expectations into project-specific controls and leadership practices.

• Offer HSEQ advice during proposal development and contract discussions.

• Define HSEQ organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, interfaces, and governance frameworks.

• Create standardized HSEQ execution plans for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover phases.

• Set construction readiness standards, which include contractor mobilization, competency assurance, risk assessments, and field controls.

• Synchronize HSEQ standards and performance expectations across contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and third parties.

• Lead contractor onboarding, alignment meetings, audits, and performance evaluations.

• Integrate HSEQ requirements into contracting strategies, procurement packages, bid documents, mobilization plans, and contractor management processes.

• Ensure governance and assurance for hazard identification, construction risk evaluations, high-risk work assessments, and site controls.

• Assess controls for high-risk tasks, including lifting operations, electrical work, confined space entry, work at heights, ground disturbances, energization, commissioning, and simultaneous operations.

• Provide oversight and escalation assistance for incidents with high potential or high severity.

• Conduct site inspections, leadership interactions, and assurance evaluations.

• Mentor project and contractor leadership teams to enhance safety leadership and proactive indicators.

• Foster a culture of open communication, psychological safety, learning, and continuous enhancement.

• Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, client specifications, and Ramboll standards.

• Represent Ramboll during client audits, regulatory inspections, and governance meetings.

• Develop HSEQ performance reports utilizing leading and lagging indicators.

• Convert performance data into actionable insights, recommendations, and strategies for stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of progressive on-site HSEQ leadership experience with significant exposure to large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.

• Strong experience in multi-contractor, high-risk industrial construction settings.

• Proven ability to influence without direct authority.

• Demonstrated experience in construction management delivery models where HSEQ performance is realized through contractor execution and effective client/contractor interface management.

• Solid understanding of construction-phase HSEQ controls, contractor management, incident investigation, assurance, and regulatory compliance.

• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Professional certifications such as CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, or CRSP are preferred.

• Experience in energy transition, power, renewables, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or major infrastructure projects is preferred.

• Experience supporting owner’s EPC/EPCM models across multiple concurrent projects is preferred.

• International or remote project experience is preferred.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
