This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of a comprehensive HSEQ strategy applicable to all EPC/EPCM projects.

• Act as the main HSEQ consultant for Project Directors and the leadership teams of EPC/EPCM.

• Promote the implementation of Ramboll’s HSEQ program and convert expectations into project-specific actions, controls, and leadership practices.

• Offer HSEQ advice during proposal developments and contract discussions.

• Define HSEQ organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, interfaces, and governance frameworks.

• Create standardized HSEQ execution plans for phases including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.

• Set expectations for construction readiness, encompassing contractor mobilization, competency verification, risk assessments, and field execution controls.

• Synchronize HSEQ expectations and performance standards among contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party partners.

• Lead the onboarding of contractors, alignment meetings, audits, and regular performance evaluations.

• Integrate HSEQ requirements into contracting strategies, procurement documents, bidding materials, mobilization plans, and contractor management workflows.

• Ensure governance and assurance over risk management protocols, hazard detection, construction risk evaluations, high-risk work assessments, and site management controls.

• Review and assess controls for high-risk tasks such as lifting, electrical operations, confined space entry, work at heights, ground disturbances, energization, commissioning, and simultaneous operations.

• Provide oversight and escalation support for significant potential or severe incidents, incorporating lessons learned.

• Conduct site inspections, leadership interactions, and assurance evaluations.

• Foster trust, accountability, proactive safety practices, psychological safety, learning, and ongoing improvement.

• Supervise adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, client expectations, and Ramboll HSEQ standards.

• Represent Ramboll during client audits, regulatory inspections, and EPC/EPCM governance sessions.

• Establish uniform HSEQ performance reporting utilizing both leading and lagging indicators.

• Convert performance data into insights, actionable steps, and recommendations for project leadership, clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of progressive on-site HSEQ leadership experience with significant exposure to large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.

• Strong experience in supporting multi-contractor, high-risk industrial construction settings.

• Proven ability to influence others without direct authority.

• Established experience in supporting construction management delivery models where HSEQ performance is executed through contractors and effective client/contractor interface management.

• Familiarity with HSEQ controls during the construction phase, contractor management, incident investigation, assurance processes, and compliance with regulations.

• Willingness to travel frequently to project sites.

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• Professional certifications such as CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, CRSP, or equivalent are preferred.

• Experience in sectors such as energy transition, power, renewables, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or major infrastructure projects is preferred.

• Previous experience in supporting owner’s EPC/EPCM models across multiple simultaneous projects is preferred.

• International or remote project experience is preferred.
