
Senior HSEQQ Manager – EPC/EPCM Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the HSEQ strategy for the entire portfolio across EPC/EPCM projects.
• Provide counsel to Project Directors and leadership teams in EPC/EPCM.
• Promote the integration of Ramboll’s HSEQ program and convert expectations into project-specific controls and routines.
• Offer HSEQ support during proposals and contract discussions.
• Define HSEQ roles, responsibilities, interfaces, and governance structures.
• Create standardized HSEQ execution plans for all stages, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
• Set expectations for construction readiness, covering contractor mobilization, competency assurance, risk assessment, and field controls.
• Ensure alignment of HSEQ standards among contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party entities.
• Direct contractor onboarding, alignment workshops, audits, and performance evaluations.
• Integrate HSEQ requirements into contracting strategies, procurement packages, bid documents, mobilization plans, and contractor management practices.
• Supervise hazard identification, construction risk evaluations, reviews of high-risk work, and site control measures.
• Assess controls related to lifting, electrical tasks, confined space operations, working at heights, ground disturbances, energization, commissioning, and simultaneous operations.
• Assist in incident escalation, investigations, and the derivation of lessons learned.
• Carry out site visits, engage in leadership interactions, and perform assurance reviews.
• Mentor project and contractor leadership teams while encouraging proactive safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, client specifications, and Ramboll standards.
• Act as Ramboll's representative during client audits, regulatory inspections, and governance meetings.
• Develop HSEQ performance reporting utilizing both leading and lagging indicators.
• Convert performance data into actionable insights, strategies, and recommendations.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of progressively responsible on-site HSEQ leadership experience.
• Extensive exposure to large-scale EPC/EPCM projects.
• Robust background in managing multi-contractor, high-risk industrial construction settings.
• Capability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Experience in supporting construction management delivery models through contractor execution and client/contractor interface management.
• Practical knowledge of HSEQ controls during the construction phase, including contractor management, incident investigations, assurance, and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to travel regularly to various project sites.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

• Preferred: Professional certifications such as CSP, CMIOSH, NEBOSH, CRSP, or equivalent.
• Preferred: Experience in energy transition, power, renewables, industrial decarbonization, chemicals, manufacturing, mining, or large infrastructure projects.
• Preferred: Experience in supporting owner’s EPC/EPCM models across multiple concurrent projects.
