
Senior HR Data Security Analyst – Workday

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as one of the two security configurators for Workday.
• Develop, adjust, and allocate domain, role-based, and user security groups.
• Oversee more than 100 ongoing Workday security activities in Production, investigate anomalies, and escalate issues as necessary.
• Independently resolve standard security configuration issues and establish escalation thresholds for complex or high-risk modifications.
• Collaborate with HRT and IBT to enhance Workday security governance, role design, and access management processes.
• Perform bi-annual Workday User Access Reviews and manage security group cleanup and hygiene.
• Remain updated on Workday security updates and patches, recommending enhancements as needed.
• Receive, log, and process routine access requests across Workday, Peakon, UKG, CEI HR ODS, and Reporting & Analytics via ServiceNow and SharePoint.
• Assess requests based on approval criteria, role-based access profiles, and least-privilege standards.
• Suggest actions for non-standard or elevated access requests and escalate them to the AVP.
• Identify requests requiring Legal or Compliance review.
• Communicate request status and resolution timelines to requestors and stakeholders.
• Maintain access request trackers, governance documentation, policy trackers, process documentation, and SharePoint resources.
• Analyze governance, audit, and access-utilization trends, recommending improvements to processes, policies, and controls.
• Identify governance risks and initiate corrective actions with business and technical stakeholders.
• Configure and manage Peakon security.
• Oversee access management and security governance for UKG, Prism, and HR ODS.
• Assist with tasks related to the ODS-to-Fabric platform transition.
• Coordinate audit support, analyze audit requests, determine documentation requirements, and ensure timely and accurate responses.
• Validate audit findings and coordinate the remediation of Workday security configuration issues.
• Identify risks related to audit readiness, track remediation activities, and drive issue resolution.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 4 years of experience in a similar role; or a Master’s degree with up to 2+ years of experience; or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ideally, 4 years of related experience.
• Strong understanding of Workday HCM security configuration, including domain, role-based, and user security administration.
• Workday Security Administration certification (e.g., Workday Pro Security) is required.
• Experience with HR data access management processes and data governance principles.
• Ability to accurately manage multiple concurrent workflows and maintain governance trackers, process documentation, or audit support materials.
• Sound judgment regarding the confidentiality and sensitivity of HR data.
• Capability to exercise independent judgment on routine decisions and recognize authority boundaries.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across HR, IT, Legal, and Compliance functions.
• Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a complex, distributed organization.
• Applicants must currently possess authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship available now or in the future.
• Additional HR platform experience (Peakon, UKG, HR ODS, Prism) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SailPoint or similar identity governance and access review tools is preferred.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits or maintaining compliance documentation is preferred.
• Experience in telecommunications, healthcare, or a similarly regulated industry is preferred.
