Senior Hardware/Software Installation Technician, Survey Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead physical site assessments at military facilities to confirm power, space, cooling, and connectivity needs.

• Evaluate current network infrastructure to identify necessary upgrades.

• Create Site Survey Reports and Installation Design Plans, which include floor plans, rack elevation diagrams, and power calculations.

• Produce Bills of Materials to facilitate procurement and logistics.

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot IT hardware, such as routers, switches, crypto devices, and UPS units.

• Install and configure Windows/Linux operating systems and implement system baselines like STIGs.

• Perform burn-in testing and system validation prior to final acceptance.

• Address hardware/software interoperability challenges in the field and collaborate with backend engineering teams.

• Serve as the primary technical contact between the PMO and site clients.

• Develop and maintain engineering drawings using Microsoft Visio or AutoCAD.

• Ensure that field operations adhere to safety regulations and military installation access protocols.

• Provide After Action Reports and daily status updates during travel to Prime.

• Keep team members up to date on necessary training and certifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in hardware/software integration and structured cabling.

• Demonstrated experience performing site surveys for DoD or Federal Government settings.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Visio.

• Strong knowledge of power requirements, including NEMA plugs, UPS sizing, and BTU calculations.

• Familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, encompassing single-mode, multi-mode, and CAT6.

• Active Secret Clearance is mandatory.

• Must be willing to travel 90% of the time for deployments within CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations.

• Capability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to work in confined spaces, such as server closets and raised flooring.

• Experience with US Army Signal Brigade / DISA / DoDIN network installation/modernization is preferred.

• Preferred qualifications include CAD Information Technology experience.

• BICSI Technician or RCDD certification is preferred.
