Senior Golang Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain robust, scalable, and reliable backend services to meet business requirements.

• Lead technical research, architectural design, and the implementation of backend services and new functionalities.

• Engage actively in code reviews and architectural discussions.

• Produce clean, effective, and maintainable code in line with company standards.

• Take responsibility for the complete lifecycle of backend services, encompassing delivery, monitoring, and maintenance in production.

• Establish and uphold observability infrastructure, including metrics, logging, dashboards, and tracing.

• Mentor and guide fellow engineers while promoting best practices and high standards.

• Participate in Agile methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in relevant programming languages at an intermediate level.

• Must reside in the EU, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, or Moldova.

• Availability to work within the CET time zone.

• More than 5 years of commercial backend engineering experience in production settings.

• Strong expertise in Go, including concurrency, synchronization primitives, context propagation, goroutine lifecycle management, and graceful shutdown patterns.

• Experience in building and maintaining high-load distributed systems.

• Recent experience in product development involving complex business logic and evolving requirements.

• Solid SQL and data modeling capabilities, including schema design, joins, aggregations, composite indexes, data type selection, query analysis, replication, partitioning, and sharding.

• Familiarity with MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Strong understanding of caching strategies, including Redis.

• Experience with synchronous and asynchronous inter-service communication, including gRPC and message brokers.

• Comprehensive understanding of microservice architecture patterns and efficient client-server interactions.

• Practical experience with observability tools and practices, including metrics, logging, distributed tracing, and alerting.

• Knowledge of non-functional requirements, SLA, SLO, and SLI.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services.

• Capability to write maintainable, testable code with thorough unit and integration test coverage.

• Proficient with Git and contemporary code review workflows.

• Ability to articulate project architecture at any level of detail.

• Capacity to independently navigate ambiguous problems to reach solutions by clarifying requirements.
