Senior Go Engineer – Payment Gateway Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design and develop services based on Go for the payment gateway and associated fintech systems, emphasizing stability, fault tolerance, and accurate management of financial operations.

• Convert business requirements into technical specifications and suggest solutions at both the service and module levels, which include API design, data models, and integrations with external providers.

• Create solutions that adhere to security standards, such as PCI DSS, sensitive data management, and secure inter-service communications.

• Evaluate and enhance service performance through code profiling, concurrency management, and effective data storage and network interactions.

• Engage in microservices architecture design, covering service boundaries, communication patterns, load balancing, error management, queues/streaming, and data storage.

• Write maintainable and testable code with adequate unit and integration test coverage.

• Take part in code reviews, assess implementations, identify problems, and provide constructive feedback.

• Offer practical solutions during technical discussions related to the existing architecture and development processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in Go development, primarily focusing on backend systems.

• Approximately 5 years of experience in working with fintech applications.

• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design, including REST/RPC transports.

• Proficiency in working with SQL and NoSQL databases, message brokers (such as Kafka, NATS), and caching systems.

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools, ideally GitLab.

• Experience utilizing the AWS cloud platform.

• Capability to share expertise and collaborate with the team on technical solutions.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for colleagues with varying levels of technical knowledge.

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Russian.

• Experience in the fintech sector.

• A security-by-design mindset, with the skill to incorporate security considerations into solutions at every stage.

• Understanding of fintech regulatory frameworks, including PCI DSS and GDPR.

• Experience in performance optimization and developing high-availability systems.

• Familiarity with observability tools such as logging, metrics, tracing, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

• Experience in integrating with external payment providers, processors, or anti-fraud systems.
