Senior Go Engineer – Core Banking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Make a substantial contribution to the payment gateway product.

• Develop advanced payment technologies that support PSPs, EMIs, and neobanks across the EU and UK.

• Design and implement robust transactional systems for financial operations.

• Build and manage production Go services.

• Investigate incidents, conduct safe deployments and database migrations, and ensure system observability.

• Integrate systems with banks, payment providers, processors, AML/KYC, and anti-fraud platforms.

• Convert business requirements into technical solutions and independently drive their implementation.

• Influence and mentor team members through knowledge sharing and experience rather than formal authority.

• Collaborate within a flat team structure to create innovative fintech solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional Go development experience, with at least 3 years in fintech, banking, payments, or other transaction-critical systems.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and API design (REST and gRPC).

• Advanced skills in PostgreSQL, including transactions, isolation levels, locking, indexing, migrations, and concurrency.

• Experience in designing reliable transactional systems utilizing idempotency, retries, event deduplication, transactional outbox, sagas, and reconciliation.

• Practical experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as NATS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.

• Proven track record in building and maintaining production services, including incident investigation, safe deployments, database migrations, and observability.

• Hands-on knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.

• Experience integrating with banks, payment providers, processors, AML/KYC, or anti-fraud systems.

• Understanding of security requirements related to financial and personal data.

• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and independently drive implementation.

• Strong communication skills with proficiency in both Russian and English.

• Practical experience in banking domain areas, including ledgers, accounting flows, accounts, balance management, holds, reversals, adjustments, reconciliation, settlement, SEPA, SWIFT, ISO 20022, card transaction lifecycles, and card scheme integrations.

• Familiarity with Temporal or a similar workflow engine is a plus.

• Experience with NATS/JetStream, GitLab CI/CD, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or Tempo is advantageous.

• Knowledge of event sourcing or append-only financial data models is beneficial.

• Familiarity with PCI DSS and GDPR regulations is a plus.

• Experience using AI coding tools for analysis, implementation, testing, or code review is an asset.
