This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and manage Go services that power the core APIs and data access paths for TDX, utilizing both HTTP and gRPC.
• Take responsibility for service reliability, performance, and scalability as traffic and data volumes increase.
• Create resilient asynchronous processing for data-heavy workloads by leveraging queues and streams.
• Improve Datadog observability through structured logging, metrics, tracing, and health indicators.
• Develop and maintain shared Go packages and service patterns, ensuring versioning, documentation, and backward compatibility.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while participating in on-call duties.
• Engage in code reviews, technical design conversations, and promote engineering best practices.
• Provide mentorship to engineers and elevate the technical standards throughout the organization.
• Contribute to best practices for AI-assisted software development and review as well as validate tool outputs.
• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including a minimum of 5 years in building and operating production services using Go.
• Strong expertise in Go concurrency, such as determining worker pool sizes and managing parallelism.
• Solid comprehension of distributed systems, handling partial failures, timeouts, retries with backoff and jitter, graceful degradation, and idempotency.
• Experience in building horizontally scalable services operating on auto-scaling infrastructure.
• Competence in measuring production latency and throughput, along with utilizing profiling and distributed tracing.
• Strong SQL and relational database capabilities, including interpreting query plans and analyzing database performance.
• Experience in designing and managing multi-tenant systems with suitable tenant isolation.
• Background in supporting production systems through on-call, debugging, testing, code reviews, and technical design.
• Extensive Unix/Linux experience, including terminal operations, shell scripting, and diagnosing running services.
• Familiarity with constructing service-to-service interfaces utilizing gRPC and Protocol Buffers.
• Proficient in message queues and streaming platforms.
• Production experience with Snowflake, MySQL, and Redis.
• Ability to read and analyze Java services and collaborate across service boundaries.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code in daily development, including verifying the resulting code.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
