Senior Geospatial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Engage in intricate geospatial projects utilizing diverse satellite imagery and sophisticated software.

• Analyze imagery, identify land-use transformations, perform predictive analyses, and carry out environmental monitoring.

• Create Python/R scripts to streamline processes through automation.

• Suggest innovative geospatial technologies and integrate GIS systems with cloud computing platforms.

• Offer technical assistance and mentorship to junior and mid-level analysts.

• Facilitate training sessions for both internal teams and clients.

• Conduct quality control assessments on geospatial data.

• Draft technical opinions, reports, and strategic presentations.

• Convert complex data into comprehensible insights for coordinators and stakeholders.

• Act as the team's technical resource and assist in defining methodologies while ensuring quality delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Cartographic Engineering, Forestry, Environmental Engineering, Geospatial Science, or a similar discipline (a graduate or master's degree is advantageous).

• Extensive experience in geospatial projects and remote sensing.

• Advanced skills in GIS tools (QGIS and/or similar), cartography, and image classification.

• In-depth understanding of Brazilian biomes and their socio-environmental dynamics.

• Intermediate proficiency in English, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.

• Experience with Google Earth Engine (GEE), SQL, PostGIS, Python/R, and Machine Learning is preferred.

• Strong analytical thinking, technical independence, and a commitment to resolving complex challenges.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to convey data and insights to management.

• A consultative and collaborative mindset, with the capacity to work effectively within a team setting.

• Robust organizational and prioritization skills to handle competing demands.
