GIS Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Enhance the existing land use planning decisions database.

• Convert the system into a more efficient web mapping application.

• Ensure rapid and straightforward data retrieval via the current IT infrastructure.

• Use Power BI to develop interactive and dynamic reports and dashboards.

• Integrate Power BI with ArcGIS to improve mapping and spatial analysis.

• Investigate Azure Maps functionalities.

• Create and sustain automation scripts and batch processes for data and metadata management using federal metadata tools, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Python, R, SQL scripts, and other relevant software.

• Develop strategies to enhance data retrieval speeds by evaluating existing data processing and infrastructure, including ArcGIS Server, SDE, and ArcGIS Portal via the ESRI Experience Application.

• Enhance and refine Power BI applications for data access and report generation from Geospatial Analysis in collaboration with ESRI Experience Apps.

• Collaborate directly with a federal government client in Colorado, engaging users to enhance applications and reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred 5 years of experience in application development.

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Knowledge of Enterprise GIS and Business Intelligence.

• Experience in Power BI Administration and Development.

• Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.

• Understanding of Metadata and Data Governance.

• Experience with Cloud Integration and Azure Services.

• Skills in Database Optimization and Data Architecture.

• Knowledge of Information Security and Compliance.

• Proficiency in Technical Documentation and Training.

• Experience in Stakeholder Engagement and Customer Support.

• Expertise in Geospatial Analysis and Cartographic Production.

• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

• Preferred: experience in supporting federal land-use planning, environmental management, or natural resource programs.

• Preferred: knowledge of federal geospatial policies, standards, and mission-support systems.

• Preferred: experience with Azure Maps capabilities, including vector tiles, routing, geocoding, spatial operations, and cloud-based mapping services.

• Preferred: familiarity with AI and emerging technology guidance relevant to federal environmental, planning, and geospatial programs.
