Senior Fund Analyst – Financial Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire fund accounting process, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and accounting standards while preparing and reviewing financial documents.

• Coordinate the annual audit process and serve as the point of contact for external auditors.

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and financial oversight.

• Supervise the valuation of portfolio investments and the precise calculation of net asset values (NAV).

• Provide analytical support for fund performance reporting and assist in management decision-making.

• Deliver financial analysis and reporting to senior management, emphasizing key metrics and trends.

• Manage daily fund accounting activities and prepare and review financial statements and reports.

• Reconcile cash, positions, and other transactional information, identifying and rectifying discrepancies.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies.

• Implement and maintain robust accounting policies and procedures.

• Aid in the development of automated solutions to enhance accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

• Mentor team members and share knowledge to foster growth and development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in fund accounting, ideally in an asset management or financial services setting within an Alternative Investment environment.

• In-depth understanding of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS.

• Proficient in financial software and reporting tools, with advanced skills in Excel.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.

• Advanced Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables and complex formulas.

• Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements and data management tools.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
