Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance full-stack functionalities across React frontends and Node.js and Go backend services as per agreed designs and acceptance criteria.

• Create, modify, and integrate scalable backend APIs across the relevant services.

• Understand the operation of current functionalities within the existing codebase.

• Refactor or phase out legacy components while ensuring existing behavior remains intact.

• Design and query PostgreSQL and MongoDB schemas for both new and modified features.

• Implement and oversee authentication, role-based access control, and authorization across various services.

• Write unit and integration tests for delivered components adhering to agreed coverage expectations.

• Integrate with AWS services and, as needed, with Snowflake and n8n.

• Engage in sprint ceremonies and working sessions with Ontrac and customer teams.

• Maintain up-to-date delivery status to enable tracking of progress against established measures.

• Collaborate with the program manager, engagement leads, and customer stakeholders from initial definition to final delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience encompassing both frontend and backend development.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript for building type-safe applications and services from end to end.

• Experience with React in a production environment, creating dynamic, responsive, real-time frontend interfaces.

• Production experience with Node.js, developing scalable server-side applications and asynchronous backend services.

• Experience with Go in building scalable backend services and APIs.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including schema design and querying.

• Proven experience in implementing secure authentication and authorization mechanisms, including role-based access control.

• Experience in building, modifying, and integrating scalable backend APIs.

• Skilled in writing unit and integration tests for backend components.

• Comfort in navigating complex codebases to refactor or retire legacy code without regressing existing functionalities.

• Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and their associated client libraries and APIs.

• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum team environment, including participation in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Familiarity with Snowflake for integrating and querying enterprise cloud data warehousing is advantageous.

• Experience with n8n for building and maintaining automated workflow integrations is a plus.
