Senior Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of key aspects of the manager-focused product experience from start to finish.

• Develop and launch Toggl 2.0, a unified product for planning, time tracking, and time intelligence.

• Lead projects from identifying problems to production, taking responsibility for technical strategies of major features.

• Decompose work into manageable parts, prioritize tasks, and deliver in increments.

• Make informed technical choices and navigate trade-offs effectively.

• Ensure transparency in work, highlight risks and delays, and proactively resolve issues independently.

• Create fast, accessible, and user-friendly planning views, dashboards, and reports for complex data.

• Design data models and API architectures.

• Analyze, measure, and optimize slow queries and rendering processes.

• Write maintainable and well-tested code.

• Shape product solutions while critically assessing requirements.

• Collaborate with product managers and designers, develop prototypes early, and identify edge cases.

• Engage in user testing, gather feedback, and leverage data to steer development.

• Conduct meaningful code reviews.

• Mentor fellow engineers and take part in the recruitment process.

• Identify common components and reduce duplication across Product Tribes.

• Utilize AI tools for exploration, prototyping, code generation, review, debugging, research, and documentation.

• Participate in team meetings scheduled between 11:00 and 16:00 UTC.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in building and deploying production web applications from end to end.

• Proven ability to lead significant projects.

• Proficient in both frontend and backend development.

• In-depth practical knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and contemporary CSS.

• Experience with state management and handling side effects in large-scale applications.

• Strong foundational skills in backend development, including API design and relational data modeling.

• Expertise in at least one backend programming language.

• Familiarity with relational databases and optimizing query performance.

• Eagerness to learn and become proficient in Golang quickly.

• Background in data-intensive product interfaces, performance optimization, readability, and data visualization principles.

• Direct experience using AI tools as an integral part of the development process.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• A willingness to contribute through code reviews, mentoring, and interviewing.

• Must reside between UTC-4 and UTC+4.

• Preferred qualifications include: knowledge of TanStack, frontend caching, eventual consistency, capacity planning, scheduling, reporting, complex B2B SaaS products, distributed or microservices architecture, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines.
