Senior Full-Stack Developer – AI-Native

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malta.

📋 Description

• Design and implement full-stack features from start to finish, encompassing backend APIs, frontend development, databases, and deployment.

• Create and sustain backend functionalities utilizing PHP/Laravel.

• Build frontend applications employing React and TypeScript.

• Engage with browser-based/canvas games using technologies like PixiJS, Three.js, or equivalent WebGL frameworks.

• Work with MySQL and Redis in a production setting.

• Develop and support REST APIs, contributing to a multi-service architecture.

• Independently troubleshoot production issues, progressing from logs and symptoms to root-cause analysis.

• Convert acquisition, retention, and product requirements into dependable features for a regulated, real-money environment.

• Collaborate with cloud infrastructure, including GCP services, Docker, and Terraform.

• Integrate AI development tools and agents into the daily engineering workflow for scaffolding, refactoring, and navigating unfamiliar codebases.

• Carefully review and validate AI-generated code to ensure adherence to the same standards as manually crafted code.

• Maintain clean, tested, and maintainable code while continuously enhancing overall code quality.

• Keep technical and service documentation accurate and current.

• Utilize AI tools effectively, paying careful attention to prompt scope and cost management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of senior-level software development experience, demonstrating full ownership of production features from inception to completion.

• Strong practical experience with PHP and Laravel.

• Significant experience with React and TypeScript.

• Familiarity with PixiJS, Three.js, or similar WebGL/canvas technologies would be a considerable advantage.

• Production experience with MySQL and Redis.

• Proficient with GCP or an equivalent cloud platform, including containers, managed databases, secrets, and IAM.

• Comfortable navigating and working with Terraform.

• Experience in large or multi-service codebases.

• AI-assisted development should already play a significant role in the candidate's daily development practices.

• Strong grasp of how to review, test, and validate AI-generated code, rather than relying on generated output without verification.

• Ability to work independently and take charge of complex technical challenges.

• Curious, collaborative, and pragmatic mindset towards software development.

• Previous experience in iGaming or another regulated real-money environment is a strong advantage, although not mandatory.
