This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design and implement secure, well-tested, and high-performance features and enhancements utilizing Vue.js and GraphQL.
• Transform intricate requirements and legacy limitations into clear and dependable solutions.
• Collaborate with product management, product design, and user experience teams to develop intuitive, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
• Engage with cross-functional teams asynchronously and synchronously, involving domain experts as necessary.
• Leverage artificial intelligence agents for well-defined tasks and critically assess their outputs.
• Produce maintainable code in accordance with GitLab standards and promote these standards through code reviews.
• Oversee production health metrics, participate in Tier 2 on-call duties, troubleshoot incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and enhance observability and resilience.
• Disseminate knowledge through code reviews, technical documentation, and daily collaboration.
• Mentor and coach fellow engineers while providing technical leadership in frontend development.
• Contribute to branch protection, Branch Rules, Codeowners, merge strategy options, and AI-driven repository management and configuration.
• Proven experience with Vue.js or another contemporary JavaScript web framework such as React, Angular, or Ember.
• Proficiency in using GraphQL for API integration and data management.
• Strong understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, core JavaScript, responsive design, accessibility standards, and frontend performance best practices.
• Experience in addressing complex policy, permissions, or rules-based challenges in web applications.
• Familiarity with writing frontend unit and acceptance tests using frameworks like Jest, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, ava, or tape.
• Knowledge of the testing pyramid.
• Proven record of enhancing the utilization of artificial intelligence coding agents in a large, intricate monorepo, including task scoping and review of generated code.
• Experience using Git in a professional setting and familiarity with collaborative code review processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to influence without formal authority and provide updates in a remote, asynchronous environment.
