Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver intricate financial, statistical, analytical, and consultative assistance to hospital executives.

• Collaborate with HR, Organizational Performance, Quality, Coding, and Business Intelligence teams.

• Cultivate business relationships and contribute to organizational achievement.

• Offer orientation, education, and training in financial resource management.

• Support the organization's financial accountability framework.

• Aid in inquiries regarding financial and business transaction processes.

• Assist with quarterly and annual internal and external financial and statistical reporting.

• Contribute to the annual Operating Plan, Long Range Plan, and periodic forecasts.

• Evaluate program outcomes and projections in relation to economic trends and hospital strategies.

• Complete provincial reporting, which includes budgets, quarterly forecasts, and year-end settlements.

• Analyze patient resource usage and enhance or automate patient-costing data processes.

• Educate stakeholders on Health System Funding Reform and assess funding methodologies.

• Develop and execute financial models while improving processes.

• Prepare month-end revenue reports, adjusting journal entries, and variance analyses.

• Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.

• Generate internal monthly and ad-hoc financial statements, identify trends, and suggest actions.

• Prepare year-end working papers and support external auditors.

• Assist with special projects as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.

• Professional Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis.

• Strong skills in financial reporting and modeling.

• Familiarity with GAAP and MIS Guidelines.

• Knowledge of provincial government reporting, including OHRS, SRI, CAPS, and ARR, is considered a significant asset.

• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and written communication abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple, competing projects efficiently.

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, particularly in financial modeling.

• Extensive knowledge of TM1, BI, and ADS software, including data extraction, report writing, and design modifications, is an asset.

• Experience with the Meditech system is considered an asset.
