Senior Financial Analyst – Financial Planning and Analysis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the MGO CFO and leadership team in assessing business performance, pinpointing risks and opportunities, and fostering accountability.

• Offer data-driven insights for strategic and operational decision-making by utilizing Excel, SQL, and AI tools.

• Collaborate with Growth Marketing, Product, Pricing, and other cross-functional teams to evaluate customer acquisition, conversion rates, volume, revenue, and profitability.

• Contribute to business cases for digital initiatives, marketing campaigns, market expansion, and product launches.

• Aid in annual planning, monthly forecasts, and long-term planning for MoneyGram Online.

• Maintain and improve driver-based financial models.

• Deliver variance analysis accompanied by performance commentary and suggested actions.

• Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor funnel performance, app and web conversion, and unit economics.

• Prepare materials for Monthly Business Reviews, reporting packs, and executive summaries.

• Analyze financial, operational, and digital engagement data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.

• Create automated, scalable reporting solutions using SQL-based queries and dashboards.

• Ensure data integrity and consistency across all reporting systems.

• Collaborate with Accounting and Corporate FP&A on month-end closing, accruals, revenue recognition, and marketing cost allocations.

• Support financial governance, business case reviews, and internal controls.

• Assist with Oracle, Essbase, and Cognos systems and data submissions.

• Promote continuous improvement through automation, AI-enabled tools, and standardization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

• 4–7+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, or similar analytical roles.

• Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, e-commerce, or other digital/transaction-driven business models is preferred.

• Experience supporting a finance team focused on digital, e-commerce, or direct-to-consumer online channels is a plus.

• Strong analytical and modeling capabilities.

• Solid understanding of financial statements, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Proficient in SQL, with the ability to independently write queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets.

• Familiarity with AI and automation tools such as Claude and ChatGPT.

• Proficient in Oracle, Essbase, Cognos, or similar financial systems and data tools.

• Advanced skills in Excel.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment while managing multiple priorities.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
