Senior Financial Analyst, Cost & Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Evaluate production expenses, cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory levels, profit margins, unit costs, and essential operational factors.

• Determine and articulate the factors influencing costs across labor, materials, yield, overhead, efficiency, inventory flow, and product assortment.

• Conduct variance analysis and convert findings into actionable insights and recommendations.

• Assist in enhancing standard costing, cost allocation methods, bill of materials (BOM) analysis, inventory valuation, and overhead procedures.

• Collaborate with finance, controllership, production, product development, research and development (R&D), and innovation teams.

• Aid in budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis for production and innovation efforts.

• Develop financial models for business cases, capital expenditures (CAPEX), product economics, make-or-buy decisions, and strategic initiatives.

• Enhance reporting, dashboards, analytical tools, and regular financial processes.

• Leverage technology, automation, and AI-powered tools to boost analysis and reporting efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related area.

• Multiple years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance, operational finance, cost accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), or related financial analysis roles.

• Practical experience with operational costing, encompassing cost accounting, standard costing, inventory management, BOMs, COGS, overhead costs, variance analysis, or cost-per-unit calculations.

• Background in manufacturing, production, or another operations-heavy environment.

• Proficient in Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis.

• Capable of working with large or complex data sets.

• Familiarity with ERP and financial reporting software.

• Experience with JD Edwards, HFM, Power BI, or similar tools is advantageous.

• Ability to independently analyze financial and operational data, identify insights, and clearly communicate recommendations.
