Senior Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with leadership to convert roadmap and staffing priorities into budgets, forecasts, and investment strategies.

• Take ownership of Budget vs. Actuals reporting for headcount, software/tooling expenditures, and consulting/contractor projects.

• Conduct variance analysis to differentiate between timing issues and permanent factors.

• Spearhead headcount planning and tracking, including position bridges, requisition status, and visibility into staffing risks.

• Anticipate AI expenditures for R&D and the organization as a whole.

• Supervise software and tooling expenditures, vendor registers, renewals, and cost/benefit analysis for build-vs-buy decisions.

• Monitor consulting and contractor engagements, including projected costs to completion and burn rates against plans.

• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting cycles.

• Offer insights into spend trends, budget risks, and financial health to senior and FP&A leadership.

• Challenge senior stakeholders on spending assumptions and investment trade-offs using data and business context.

• Coordinate with FP&A leadership, Accounting, and Procurement to ensure aligned execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in FP&A or financial business partnering.

• Direct partnership experience with senior VP/SVP-level leadership.

• Background in B2B SaaS companies.

• Knowledge of subscription and recurring revenue models and KPIs including ARR, net retention, and gross margin.

• Strong business acumen with an understanding of the value creation from technical and product teams.

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, headcount/position tracking, and managing vendor or contractor expenditures.

• Ability to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders with data and business context.

• Proficient in Excel modeling.

• Comfortable with SUMIFS/SUMPRODUCT-based variance analysis models.

• Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI or Microsoft Fabric.

• Clear ownership mindset with the ability to formulate, defend, and monitor recommendations.

• Strong boundary management between strategic finance partnership and transactional accounting.

• Proficiency in English and Polish.

• German language skills are a plus.
