Senior Finance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain advanced financial models for real estate investments, acquisitions, and portfolio analyses.

• Generate detailed financial reports, variance analyses, and executive dashboards to guide strategic decision-making.

• Work collaboratively with Operations, Sourcing, and various cross-functional teams to evaluate performance metrics and uncover optimization opportunities.

• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including budget-versus-actual analyses and forecasting updates for designated portfolios.

• Perform in-depth market research and competitive analysis for client presentations and internal strategic projects.

• Participate in initiatives aimed at process improvement that boost the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.

• Advocate for AI and automation to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and develop scalable solutions.

• Spearhead process development and optimization, ensuring proper documentation, governance, and ongoing improvements.

• Cultivate accountability for deliverables across onshore and offshore teams through delegation, training, performance management, and effective communication.

• Act as a reliable business partner to leadership by providing timely updates, operational insights, and recommendations for process enhancements.

• Navigate complex operational and reporting needs using critical thinking, strategic problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Six years of progressive experience in financial analysis.

• Advanced Excel skills, including complex financial modeling, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.

• Familiarity with financial software systems such as E-1, Bottomline, and Peoplesoft.

• Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis within finance or real estate sectors.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to distill complex data into actionable insights.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting financial information to senior executives.

• Detail-oriented mindset coupled with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in dynamic environments.

• Capacity to advocate for the integration of AI and automation to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and create scalable solutions.

• Proficiency in leading process development and optimization, including documentation, governance, and continuous improvement.

• Ability to instill accountability for deliverables across onshore and offshore teams through effective delegation, training, performance management, and communication.

• Capability to serve as a trusted business partner to leadership by delivering timely updates, operational insights, and recommendations.

• Strong critical thinking, strategic problem-solving, and decision-making expertise.

• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.

• MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certifications are preferred.

• Previous experience in commercial real estate or real estate investment management is advantageous.

• Proficiency in advanced analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms.

• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards, especially as they relate to real estate.

• Experience with debt and equity financing structures, including construction loans, permanent financing, and joint venture arrangements.

• Familiarity with property management systems and lease administration processes.

• Project management experience with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive process improvements.
