This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead customer interactions by architecting and showcasing scalable, cloud-native lakehouse solutions and their associated business outcomes.
• Provide specialized knowledge throughout the sales process, assisting with PoCs, solution sizing, and customer onboarding.
• Emphasize self-service BI, open table formats, and data analytics ready for AI applications.
• Resolve intricate issues related to query performance, management of concurrent workloads, and data federation.
• Manage technical escalations and offer guidance on complex technical challenges.
• Promote technical empowerment both internally and externally by investigating analytical engines and creating educational resources.
• Share best practices concerning contemporary data warehousing methodologies.
• Convert customer insights and regionally specific needs into product and engineering recommendations.
• Engage in community events, present at conferences, and contribute to knowledge dissemination.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Travel to customer locations and Cloudera hubs approximately once a month.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and executing mission-critical data warehousing and BI use cases.
• Proven track record in designing, constructing, and deploying enterprise-level data lakehouses and big data analytics platforms utilizing cloud-native architectures.
• Practical expertise with SQL engines, open table formats, and big data warehousing technologies, particularly Apache Iceberg, Trino, Apache Hive, and Apache Impala.
• Strong background in architecting production data solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud settings.
• Expertise in large-scale BI, ad-hoc analytics, and establishing an AI-ready data infrastructure.
• Proven ability to conduct Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and MVPs leading to enterprise-level production launches.
• Experience in ensuring high-concurrency query performance and optimizing costs.
• Experience in designing data-centric architectures encompassing data modeling, security, data quality, and governance.
• Outstanding presentation skills for engaging SQL developers, data analysts, and senior executives.
• Ability to evaluate data warehouse workloads and outline technical migration or modernization strategies.
• Previous experience in pre-sales or technical consulting roles involving big data, data warehousing, and AI platforms (bonus).
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, or Teradata (bonus).
• Experience with dbt, Star Schema, Data Vault, and enhancing analytical query performance over distributed object storage (bonus).
• Experience with open-source software and development methodologies (bonus).
• Knowledge of Cloudera Data Warehouse, Cloudera Machine Learning, and Shared Data Experience (bonus).
• Relevant technical certifications such as Snowflake SnowPro Core, AWS Certified Data Analytics, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer (bonus).
• Proficiency in Apache Spark, Airflow, and the broader open-source data and AI ecosystem (bonus).
