Senior Field Service Technician, West Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Execute service tasks of medium to high complexity following work instructions and ABB guidelines.

• Provide outstanding customer service while identifying opportunities within the installed base to enhance system and operational efficiency.

• Carry out work adhering to ABB's HSE standards, ABB Way, Safety Manual, and Safety policy.

• Engage in hands-on project execution, which includes startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment and controls.

• Oversee outages alongside field engineers, technicians, and contractors, taking on project management and site engineering duties.

• Plan, organize, and execute multifunctional field assignments.

• Direct field engineers and craft labor as necessary.

• Compose technical reports, order materials, obtain quotations, prepare job status and customer reports, complete timesheets and expense reports, and manage cost control activities.

• Enhance and broaden technical knowledge and expertise.

• Plan, prepare, and/or conduct internal and external training programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with over 5 years of relevant experience.

• Technical proficiency in testing power distribution and delivery systems, including Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Breakers, Switchgear, Relays, and Transformers.

• Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers, including those from Siemens, GE, ABB, SquareD, Multilin relays, and Schweitzer Relays.

• Experience in testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines, including excitation systems, control systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers is advantageous.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 75% of the time.

• Understanding of the industrial customer base in the specified geographical area.

• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US; sponsorship for employment visas is not available.
