Senior Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and analyze Eos commercial BESS as well as third-party products both on-site and remotely.

• Conduct site visits and deliver remote customer support through email, telephone, and remote assistance tools.

• Utilize Field Service and Work Order Management tools to accurately and promptly retrieve and update information.

• Prepare reports, provide training to customers, and address inquiries regarding system functionality and performance.

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Eos commercial products and third-party offerings.

• Execute acceptance and performance testing, troubleshooting, installation, startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and turnarounds of BESS.

• Work with high-voltage DC electricity, three-phase power systems, and relevant BESS and third-party software.

• Assume the role of site lead when necessary, offering leadership and guidance to field service technicians and third-party contractors.

• Document daily site activities, equipment status, troubleshooting efforts, and performance metrics for engineers and managers.

• Ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• At least three (3) years of field experience in Electrical/Electronics/Power electronics and/or network communications is recommended.

• A trade or vocational college background focusing on electrical work, renewable energy, or electronics is preferred.

• Prior experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in energy storage, is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with applied problem-solving methodologies.

• Completion of electrical safety training, such as NFPA70E or similar, is required.

• Experience with Medium Voltage/Substation systems is an advantage.

• Capability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision while collaborating with Field Service Engineers.

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Windows and Office; experience with programming/PLC and controls is a plus.

• Awareness of safety practices related to electrical work, cranes, forklifts, and construction environments.

• Understanding of DC electrical systems and control mechanisms.

• Familiarity with electrical voltage meters and testing equipment.

• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code is essential.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, working at field installations for up to 100% of the working time for durations of up to three weeks.

• Ability to work at significant heights and in extreme environments, perform repetitive tasks for extended periods, and frequently lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
