This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Deliver both remote and on-site technical assistance for BD automated dispensing systems within the designated region.
• Address, assess, prioritize, and resolve work orders in accordance with service-level agreements.
• Diagnose and fix proprietary hardware and software components while maintaining full ownership of cases.
• Troubleshoot intricate problems and escalate to Senior or Lead Field Service Engineers when necessary.
• Provide support for government accounts that require eligibility for a CAC.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Carry out installations, in-servicing, repairs, calibrations, and general technical support.
• Keep an accurate inventory of spare parts.
• Maintain the company-issued vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Foster positive customer relationships through professional communication and timely assistance.
• Record service activities, expenses, and time logs using designated tools.
• Collaborate with Sales and Implementation teams to enhance deployments and customer experience.
• Adhere to complaint-handling and Medical Device Reporting protocols.
• Ensure that service documentation complies with regulatory and corporate standards.
• Engage in technical training and developmental programs.
• Assist with escalations, advanced troubleshooting, and case resolution.
• Promote a preventive service culture by sharing insights and offering proactive support.
• 1–3 years of combined experience in hardware, software, and IT support.
• An Associate degree in a related discipline or over 3 years of Field Service or Technical Support experience.
• Experience in repairing medical or electromechanical devices is essential.
• Strong skills in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and documentation skills.
• May require eligibility for access to Local, State, and/or Federal facilities, including background checks and identification credentials or security badges.
• Preferred experience in 24×7 on-call service.
• CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to disassemble and reassemble complex systems.
• Proficient in Windows OS, networking, and using diagnostic tools.
• Capable of using powered and manual hand tools.
• Ability to frequently lift 85 lbs and occasionally lift 115 lbs, including overhead lifts.
• Capacity to climb, kneel, crawl, reach, grasp, stand, and walk for extended durations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to comply with company driving standards.
• Willingness to travel as needed, including daily car travel and occasional air travel with overnight stays.
• Work shift from 3 PM to midnight or 4 PM to 1 AM, with on-call responsibilities.
