Senior Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead programs, offering technical guidance and support to ABB end customers, users, and field personnel.

• Assist in the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of designated product lines, which include power delivery, drive systems, and control systems.

• Adhere to ABB and client EHS policies and procedures.

• Install, maintain, repair, and commission equipment utilized in power delivery.

• Provide support during outages, as well as for control systems and power quality systems.

• Foster collaborative relationships with team members.

• Follow instructions from Field Engineers, Lead Field Engineers, and Senior Management.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships that encourage referral business.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in power systems, startup/commissioning, testing, and maintenance; or a combination of relevant education and experience.

• Associate's degree with 5 years of experience in power systems, startup/commissioning, testing, and maintenance; or a high school diploma with 10 years of experience in these areas.

• Proficiency with various electrical controls and systems, including mid-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, power panels, motor control centers (MCC), maintenance of generators and transformers, electromechanical repairs, relay testing and installation, as well as knowledge of instruments, PLCs, DCS, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and testing equipment.

• Willingness and ability to travel 60% of the time.

• Most travel will occur within the VA, NC, SC, GA, and FL regions.

• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
