This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide comprehensive training through classroom sessions, online courses, and hands-on technical experience.
• Achieve expertise in the installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of Coordinate Measuring Machines and associated metrology equipment.
• Support senior technicians in installations, customer service interactions, preventive maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Execute assigned service tasks under supervision and within the designated training parameters.
• Successfully carry out assigned service tasks independently after completing the necessary training.
• Identify fundamental mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and system-related problems.
• Refer intricate technical challenges to senior technicians or technical support.
• Assess equipment and suggest appropriate follow-up measures.
• Deliver prompt, solution-oriented customer assistance.
• Relay service findings, equipment conditions, completed tasks, and subsequent actions effectively.
• Manage customer expectations by providing timely service updates.
• Represent ZEISS in a professional manner at client locations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address customer issues.
• Prepare service reports, work orders, calibration records, expense reports, and other documentation accurately.
• Record equipment conditions, tasks performed, parts utilized, concerns raised, and recommendations made.
• Maintain company-system records and ensure timely submission of expenses.
• Safeguard confidential information pertaining to customers and the company.
• Care for tools, diagnostic equipment, spare parts, and consumables responsibly.
• Oversee inventory of spare parts and consumables, keeping accurate inventory records.
• Coordinate efforts with service, deployment, receiving, and warehouse teams.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, quality standards, security protocols, and service procedures.
• Follow customer-site safety guidelines and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Report any hazards, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions promptly.
• Operate company vehicles and material-handling equipment safely.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
• A college diploma or university degree in electronics, electromechanical engineering technology, industrial mechanics, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• An equivalent combination of relevant technical training and hands-on work experience may also be acceptable.
• Preferably, previous experience in installing, maintaining, repairing, or troubleshooting industrial electronics, mechanical systems, machinery, or computer-controlled systems.
• Familiarity with CMMs, precision measurement systems, or industrial metrology equipment is advantageous.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems is essential.
• Previous experience in customer service or field service roles is a plus.
• Strong aptitude in mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computing fields.
• Capacity to comprehend technical concepts, equipment, software, and service processes.
• Basic skills in diagnostics, analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, drawings, and instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Skill in conveying technical information clearly and professionally.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building capabilities.
• Well-developed organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Ability to produce accurate service and expense documentation.
