Senior Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Perform medium- to high-complexity service tasks following work instructions and ABB standards.

• Provide outstanding customer service while identifying opportunities to enhance system and operational efficiency within the installed base.

• Carry out work activities in adherence to ABB HSE, ABB Way, Safety Manual, and Safety policy.

• Implement projects hands-on, which includes startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment and controls.

• Oversee outages alongside field engineers, technicians, and contractors, encompassing project management and site engineering duties.

• Handle administrative tasks such as creating technical reports, ordering materials, preparing quotations, updating job status reports, compiling customer reports, and managing timesheets and expense reports for cost control.

• Organize, plan, and execute multifunctional field assignments.

• Supervise the work of field engineers and craft personnel as needed.

• Enhance and broaden technical knowledge in line with industry engineering standards.

• Organize, prepare, and/or deliver internal and external training programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED accompanied by over 5 years of pertinent field engineering experience.

• Proficient technical skills in testing power distribution and delivery systems, including Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Breakers, Switchgear, Relays, and Transformers.

• Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers, including OEM equipment like Siemens, GE, ABB, SquareD, Multilin relays, and Schweitzer Relays.

• Familiarity with testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines, including excitation systems, control systems, and Programmable Logic controllers is a plus.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 75% of the time.

• Understanding of the industrial customer base within the geographical area.

• Must possess work authorization enabling employment with ABB in the US.

• ABB is currently unable to sponsor an employment visa.
