Senior Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the main on-site representative for the ABB end customer/user as well as other ABB field personnel.

• Uphold ABB’s Safety Culture as the top priority in the field and supervise co-workers accordingly.

• Occasionally take on additional administrative responsibilities as a team leader to coordinate internal field service activities.

• Support customers with spare parts ordering, problem resolution, and provisioning.

• Execute collateral duties as assigned to address business needs related to EHS, Quality, Integrity, etc.

• Carry out responsibilities in Power Delivery, Medium & Low Voltage Switchgear/MCCs, Protective Relays, Transformers, Control Systems, and associated equipment.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, along with a minimum of 9 years of experience in a support or field engineering role.

• Additional formal education may be considered as a substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

• Experience with Mid-Voltage Switchgear.

• Experience with Low-Voltage Switchgear.

• Experience with Motor Control Centers.

• Experience in Transformers Testing & Maintenance.

• Experience with Automatic Transfer Switches.

• Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and one-line electrical drawings.

• Familiarity with blueprints and schematics.

• Relay Testing & installation experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of Instruments; PLCs & DCS is preferred.

• Experience with Variable Frequency Drives is preferred.

• Willingness and ability to travel 60–80% of the time across TX, LA, MO, OK, AR, KS, AL, MS, and TN, with occasional travel to other U.S. locations.

• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
