Senior Field Service Engineer – Rotating Equipment, Compressors & Pumps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and overhaul of pumps, compressors, and rotating machinery.

• Offer advanced field service support at customer locations throughout Malaysia and the APAC region.

• Identify and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process-related equipment challenges.

• Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and suggest corrective measures.

• Interpret P&IDs, API standards, OEM manuals, and engineering schematics.

• Assist with customer shutdowns, turnarounds, emergency breakdowns, and initiatives aimed at improving reliability.

• Produce technical reports and uphold high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Collaborate with sales, engineering teams, channel partners, and clients to enhance service opportunities throughout the region.

• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and facilitate technical training sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Field Service Engineering.

• A minimum of 5 years working with rotating equipment.

• Extensive experience in commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

• Proven experience in supporting compressors and/or pumps in industrial settings.

• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry with knowledge of API standards.

• Excellent customer-facing communication abilities.

• Willingness to travel extensively across Malaysia and the APAC region (50-75%).

• Proficient in English communication.

• Preferred: Experience with centrifugal compressors.

• Preferred: Vibration Analysis Level II Certification.

• Preferred: Experience with integral gear compressors.

• Preferred: Troubleshooting experience with PLC, instrumentation, and controls.

• Preferred: Malay language skills.

• Preferred: Mandarin language proficiency.
