This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Act as a representative for Oxford Instruments by providing exceptional technical support, installation, and maintenance services for advanced microscopy systems across North and South America.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of designated systems and options, ensuring adherence to factory specifications.
• Conduct scheduled and emergency maintenance with accuracy and skill.
• Foster trust and long-lasting relationships through prompt communication and hands-on training.
• Troubleshoot intricate hardware and software challenges using specialized tools.
• Calibrate essential components and introduce performance-enhancing upgrades to guarantee maximum system reliability and efficiency.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Life Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in field service within the microscopy or analytical instrumentation sector.
• Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Strong enthusiasm for computer hardware architecture and system components.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and system integration schematics.
• Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, a passport, and the capacity to travel independently.
• Must be physically agile and comfortable working in tight or awkward spaces.
• Able to independently lift and manage equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to commit to significant weekday travel to address customer installations and service requirements, from Monday to Friday.
