Senior Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver high-level technical expertise, escalation assistance, and field leadership for Leica Biosystems diagnostic solutions.

• Oversee advanced troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, repair tasks, and technical escalations.

• Address intricate customer and instrument issues.

• Utilize service data, customer insights, Gemba observations, and root cause analysis to pinpoint recurring problems.

• Execute countermeasures to enhance customer uptime, service quality, and field service efficiency.

• Act as a senior technical resource for Field Service Engineers, service leadership, technical support, applications, commercial, and product teams.

• Guide and mentor others, share best practices, support escalations, and promote sustainable improvements throughout the organization.

• Report directly to the Regional Field Service Manager.

• Travel mainly within the country, with occasional international trips.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate’s degree combined with over 6 years of field service, technical, biomedical, military, or similar hands-on troubleshooting experience, or equivalent qualifications.

• Extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing complex medical devices, laboratory equipment, scientific instruments, electromechanical systems, electronic devices, automation, or instrumentation systems.

• Capability to independently tackle complex technical challenges.

• Proficiency in guiding and mentoring less experienced team members.

• Ability to impact customer outcomes positively.

• Strong communication skills across customer and internal stakeholder groups.

• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Willingness to travel up to 90%, including overnight stays, by flying and/or driving.

• Capability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise, and/or place up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

• Physical ability to stand, walk for extended periods, sit, squat, kneel, ascend and descend stairs, and reach with hands and arms.

• Preferred: experience serving as a senior technical resource, escalation point, lead Field Service Engineer, trainer, or subject matter expert.

• Preferred: experience in supporting advanced diagnostic solutions, laboratory automation, complex instrumentation, or other intricate customer environments.

• Preferred: experience applying continuous improvement methodologies, root cause analysis, PSP, Kaizen, or service analytics.
