This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Collaborate closely with the ITT Cannon Sales team and customer engineers to suggest products and technical solutions for new design applications.
• Determine system design needs and address any technical challenges that have not been met.
• Spearhead solution development to fulfill customer requirements.
• Oversee the technical identification and product development process from initial concept through to production.
• Coordinate efforts among sales, product management, engineering, and operations teams.
• Deliver design solutions, models, technical proposals, and prototypes.
• Serve as the primary engineering contact for customers to secure new design projects.
• Present product and technical solution capabilities effectively.
• Provide technical product training to customer engineers.
• Function as the main liaison between customer engineering and internal cross-functional teams.
• Manage and coordinate activities associated with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Operations.
• Cultivate relationships with customer technical communities and ascertain requirements for new designs.
• Stay informed about technical market trends and identify opportunities for product expansion.
• Gather and incorporate the Voice of the Customer (VoC).
• Develop and present technical solutions to secure new design wins.
• Comprehend customer applications and requirements to recommend suitable solutions.
• Provide on-site support to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
• Collaborate with product design engineering to create custom solutions based on customer feedback.
• Report directly to the New Product Development Engineering Manager and the Director of Product Management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a minimum of 10 years of connector design engineering experience in place of a degree.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience in connector design.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in field applications, product management, or technical sales within the connector industry.
• Strong understanding of connector, cable, and system design and manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to manage customer engagements directly.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work independently with little guidance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership skills across various functional departments.
• Organizational acumen to achieve strategic objectives.
• Experience with CAD for both 2D and 3D modeling applications.
• Proficient in MS Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel periodically, up to 40% of the time.
• Access to export-controlled documents and information.
• Preferred: Experience with harsh environment circular connectors, electrical cabling, high power, or high-speed data transfer.
• Preferred: Knowledge of high-performance thermoplastics, metal alloys, and associated manufacturing requirements.
• Preferred: Experience with CREO Parametric 3D Modeling/Documentation.
