Senior Field Engineer – Pre-Sales, Forward Deployed

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Account Executives to identify and prioritize strategic opportunities, serving as the technical lead for intricate engagements.

• Transition clients from high-level strategies to fully operational versions of Cognite's solutions through Fast AI Prototyping utilizing Cognite Atlas AI™ and Cognite Data Fusion®.

• Spearhead the design and execution of pioneering industrial agents using the Atlas AI workbench.

• Streamline complex industrial workflows with solutions that are not only technically viable but also scalable and based on Cognite's Industrial Knowledge Graph.

• Facilitate use case workshops and briefings, converting functional and non-functional requirements into actionable high-level use cases.

• Provide client-centric demonstrations and reference architectures that illustrate the ROI of Industrial AI.

• Transform field challenges and deployment insights into actionable product requirements and scalable best practices for Cognite's Product organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years in forward-deployed engineering or pre-sales engineering roles, preferably within enterprise SaaS, cloud platforms, or industrial software companies.

• A robust engineering foundation, with preferred fields including but not limited to Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, and Machine Learning.

• A solid proficiency in Python and a comprehensive understanding of the GenAI landscape (embeddings, RAG, and prompt chaining).

• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% as necessary to be present where the impact occurs.

• Educational background or experience in the industrial sector (e.g., Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Control System Engineering).

• Prior experience in customer-facing roles or sales.

• Familiarity with "messy" real-world variables in the industries Cognite operates in (Energy, Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Life Sciences, Discrete).
