Senior Field Engineer – ECH SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +38 more states.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the ECH Field Engineer Manager

• Take responsibility for system implementation in accordance with site design specifications

• Execute on-site configuration, testing, cutover, and post-cut support for Motorola’s on-premise and cloud-hosted ECH solutions

• Carry out system configuration for designated and supported ECH solutions, including hybrid cloud and SaaS applications

• Conduct site verification testing prior to transitioning a site into production

• Set up and troubleshoot connectivity between local site infrastructure and cloud-hosted application environments

• Assist customers and channel partners in deploying ECH solutions into production

• Record solution modifications, including cloud tenant configurations and API integrations, throughout the implementation process

• Address installation and quality issues promptly and efficiently

• Contribute to the development and approval of Methods of Procedure for cloud migrations and system upgrades

• Engage in pre-contract oral presentations and customer negotiations as necessary

• Maintain expertise in emerging cloud-native public safety technologies

• Travel over 75% of the time within the U.S. and internationally

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or Technology

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Engineering or Technical environment

• At least 3 years of experience in the deployment or integration of complex IP products and systems

• CompTIA Network+ AND Security+ certifications

• Experience troubleshooting cloud-based applications, including connectivity, latency analysis, and identity management (SSO/Active Directory)

• Proficient in the installation, administration, and troubleshooting of Server Virtualization, specifically RedHat KVM, VMWare ESXi v.6+, and/or Microsoft Hyper-V 2012+

• Familiarity with Database Servers, particularly Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2016

• Knowledge of Server Operating Systems, specifically Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2

• Proficient with Workstation Operating Systems, especially Windows 10 & 11

• Experience with Linux

• Familiarity with Network Switches, preferably Cisco IOS

• Basic understanding of Firewalls and Routers, ideally Fortinet FortiGate

• Knowledge of telephony related to analog lines and PRI, including troubleshooting and physical configuration/termination

• Familiarity with ACD call routing and provisioning

• Understanding of SIP interfaces and call flow ladders for troubleshooting and SBC provisioning

• Basic knowledge of Active Directory regarding account segregation and role assignments

• Ability to work independently using various guides and remote support options

• Capable of self-managing time based on objectives and goal requirements

• Familiarity with virtual machine deployments and hosted systems, ESXi/KVM RedHat

• Acquainted with Cisco switch configurations

• Must possess or be eligible for a U.S. passport for international travel up to 75%

• Experience with Server and Workstation hardware

• Previous experience in Public Safety Applications deployment and integration, or operations and administration is preferred

• Ability to apply critical thinking skills to resolve issues and make decisions

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer work permit sponsorship is unavailable

• Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining the necessary security clearance as required by government contracts

• Relevant cloud certifications are advantageous, but not mandatory
