This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, develop, execute, and maintain healthcare interoperability solutions utilizing FHIR standards, HAPI FHIR, and associated technologies.
• Design and establish standards-compliant APIs and FHIR functionalities, which include US Core profiles, SMART on FHIR, FHIR Bulk Data export, CDS Hooks, electronic case reporting, and asynchronous MDM integration.
• Assess technical requirements, integration limitations, and healthcare data-exchange demands to identify suitable implementation strategies and solution designs.
• Generate and uphold FHIR implementation guidelines, vendor-facing integration documentation, developer documentation, and comprehensive integration specifications.
• Assist in integration testing, troubleshooting, performance enhancement, security, validation, and production readiness for solutions based on FHIR.
• Work in collaboration with architects, interface engineers, application developers, testers, onboarding teams, vendors, and external partners to guarantee that interoperability solutions are standards-compliant, scalable, and maintainable.
• Provide technical direction across intricate healthcare integration projects.
• Assume additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support team goals and ensure the success of projects.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related discipline, along with 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Significant experience in designing and executing healthcare interoperability solutions using FHIR and HL7 standards.
• Practical experience with HAPI FHIR, FHIR resource modeling, profiles, implementation guides, validation, and conformance.
• Strong background in developing RESTful APIs and integration solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical solution-design abilities with the capability to assess complex integration requirements.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, capable of working independently and providing technical leadership across diverse teams.
• Familiarity with US Core, SMART on FHIR, FHIR Bulk Data, CDS Hooks, electronic case reporting, and asynchronous Master Data Management integrations.
• Experience in integrating Electronic Health Records, Health Information Exchanges, healthcare applications, and other clinical systems using established healthcare data standards.
• Knowledge of healthcare API security, access controls, integration testing, and production-readiness processes.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• All selected candidates must successfully pass a background check.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including necessary fingerprinting, when required for the position.
