Senior Facilities Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Oversee the activities of other staff members, potentially managing a diverse workforce.

• Supervise and coordinate all maintenance and operational tasks for a designated FM group.

• Ensure that facilities are upheld to the highest standards, in alignment with the mission and values of the Church.

• Assume responsibility for KPI performance indicators related to timeliness, cost, quality, and self-performance.

• Manage the cost, quality, and timing of operations within the Facility group.

• Provide support and mentorship to other Facilities Managers regarding best practices, as designated by the Regional Facilities Manager.

• Assist in organizing and delivering regional training sessions on systems, processes, procedures, and programs.

• Identify, develop, and implement annual plans for each facility within the FM Group.

• Foster relationships with local and regional team members, stakeholders, and contractors to assess facility needs and uncover optimal solutions.

• Maintain 24/7/365 emergency and on-call availability, collaborating with the Emergency Call Center and attending select weekend meetings.

• Aid the FM group team in fulfilling emergency work orders.

• Establish and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs in conjunction with a third-party operations manager.

• Conduct property inspections at least bi-annually, which may include overnight stays for remote properties.

• Ensure that facilities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.

• Develop and execute safety programs and emergency response plans.

• Lead the team in achieving strategic objectives set forth by leadership.

• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and participate in weekly and annual regional and area training sessions.

• Advocate for changes in processes, procedures, systems, and programs.

• Enhance space utilization across the portfolio to bolster Church activities and programs.

• Coordinate weekly FM group meetings addressing budget performance, customer service, work orders, prioritization, and project scheduling.

• Collaborate with third-party administrators to oversee service provider work order completion and performance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, property management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in the facilities management sector.

• At least 4 years in a leadership capacity overseeing others.

• Total of 14 years of combined education and experience.

• Proven leadership and managerial capabilities.

• FMP (Facility Management Professional) certification is required or must be acquired within one year of hire.

• Extensive knowledge of facility and property management, construction practices, business protocols, safety, and fire codes.

• Demonstrated front-line management skills in a multi-discipline work environment, with the ability to navigate challenging situations to achieve positive outcomes.

• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, priesthood leaders, contractors, and vendors.

• Proficient in computer and cellphone usage.

• Familiarity with CMMS systems, MS Office applications, department-specific software, web-based programs, internet services, and wireless communications.

• Strong grasp of the systems, processes, procedures, and programs of the Meetinghouse Facilities Department, with the capability to communicate and instruct others.

• Demonstrates organizational knowledge to ensure the inclusion of relevant departments and individuals in decision-making processes.

• Shows a commitment to ongoing learning and development.

• Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
