This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +3 more countries.
• Lead and oversee the preparation of budget estimates based on site visits, conceptual data, and firm bids.
• Formulate bidding strategies and general trade estimates.
• Own the estimation process from beginning to end.
• Offer support services during the construction phases.
• Analyze project blueprints, conceptual drawings, bidding specifications, scope descriptions, contracts, and related documents.
• Create estimates, proposals, cost information, and schedules.
• Utilize computerized bidding systems effectively.
• Respond to bid requests, estimates, and proposals in a timely and professional manner.
• Assess project duration and financial value, and review budgets prior to submission.
• Evaluate subcontractor lists and track bid solicitation progress and subcontractor coverage on bid day.
• Chair project turnover meetings and provide project teams with essential background information.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings.
• Analyze vendor and subcontractor bids for completeness.
• Compile subcontractor lists for bid solicitation.
• Oversee the complete bid process from inception to submission.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, Human Resources, and other support teams.
• Report to the Chief Estimator and coordinate with an Estimating Coordinator.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Estimator on commercial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management, or relevant experience as a substitute for education.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Capability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects (4–5) simultaneously.
• Experience with estimating for commercial projects, including restaurants, schools, car dealerships, office spaces, ground-up buildings, retail spaces, or multi-unit housing.
• Strong skills in mathematics, problem-solving, cost analysis, communication, and time management.
• Familiarity with Timberline estimating software is preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience or responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel 0–10%, depending on project needs.
• Ability to work full-time in a U.S. timezone.
• Proficiency in English is required for the application process.
• Must be comfortable working as an independent contractor.
