Civil Estimator – AU Based, Remote / Offshore – Philippines

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Assess tender invitations, perform go/no-go evaluations, and review contract terms.

• Oversee tender timelines and submission deadlines.

• Coordinate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.

• Engage in tender interviews and clarification meetings remotely.

• Analyze civil drawings, landscape designs, engineering specifications, geotechnical reports, and stormwater plans.

• Detect missing details, design discrepancies, and constructability concerns.

• Address scope discrepancies between civil and landscape packages.

• Prepare comprehensive quantity take-offs for excavation, disposal, drainage, aggregates, pavements, planting, irrigation, reinstatement, traffic management, and preliminaries.

• Formulate pricing for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and overheads.

• Consider productivity factors, urban construction inefficiencies, and impacts of staged work.

• Create project-specific construction methodologies.

• Draft exclusions, assumptions, clarifications, and qualifications.

• Recognize commercial and construction risks.

• Source and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing, lead times, and delivery risks.

• Evaluate alternative methodologies and negotiate as necessary.

• Prepare quotations, tender submissions, methodology statements, and commercial proposals.

• Conduct organized handovers to delivery teams, outlining assumptions, key risks, and outstanding issues.

• Collaborate daily with Australian project managers, design teams, and commercial leaders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil estimating.

• Proficient in pricing urban infrastructure, streetscape, or public domain projects, including stormwater and road infrastructure.

• Strong grasp of construction sequencing and methodologies.

• Capability to interpret civil engineering documentation.

• Advanced skills in Excel.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Proven track record of working effectively in a remote, cross-border team environment.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated workspace at home.

• Willingness to work core hours that overlap with Australian business hours.

• Ability to estimate according to Australian construction methodologies and applicable standards, or a demonstrated capacity to adapt quickly.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and cost modeling.

• Experience with at least one professional estimating or take-off software platform (such as Bluebeam, CostX, Buildsoft, or equivalent).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Teams).

• Experience with streetscapes, landscape construction, or integrated civil/landscape packages is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of stormwater management, WSUD, or urban tree infrastructure is highly desirable.

• Experience working with civil or landscape contractors based in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, or the US is highly desirable.

• Previous offshore or remote contracting experience is highly desirable.
