This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Engage in ensuring adherence to existing permits.
• Guarantee that environmental data is gathered and reported promptly.
• Create environmental reports.
• Examine technical documents.
• Set up monitoring schedules and procedures to align with permit obligations and corporate standards.
• Provide guidance on environmental programs and practices to maintain compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
• Deliver training for environmental monitoring technicians and contractors.
• Collect and analyze data to detect trends and uphold site compliance.
• Contribute to proactive environmental initiatives that support reclamation and the environmental management of the mining site.
• Foster a culture of safety by participating in daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings.
• Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify and resolve unsafe conditions or workplace hazards.
• Ensure that employee performance and activities adhere to safe processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in hydrology, environmental science, civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related equivalent.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in Environmental roles.
• Experience in Mining, Oil and Gas, or Heavy Industrial sectors is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain robust working relationships.
• High degree of integrity and ethical standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to collaborate with a diverse cross-cultural workforce.
• Willingness to work a two-week rotation with 12-hour shifts daily at a remote camp.
• Two weeks on and two weeks off rotation schedule.
