Engineering Manager – Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee two teams focused on developing Omada’s Platform and Engineering Systems.

• Take charge of squad priorities, sequencing, team development, delivery, and roadmaps.

• Write production code each sprint in collaboration with AI-enhanced engineers.

• Facilitate iteration shaping, prioritization, backlog refinement, and initiative estimation.

• Manage, recruit, and mentor engineers; initially lead a team of 5 and expand as needed.

• Maintain cycle time while ensuring or enhancing quality standards.

• Oversee operational health, which includes on-call rotations, MTTR, and post-incident analysis.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, IT, InfoSec, Legal, Compliance, Procurement, and other key stakeholders.

• Manage an annual vendor budget and expenditures of millions across AWS, Datadog, GitLab, and Anthropic contracts.

• Take ownership of annual internal and external audit controls and assist in developing automation and evidence-management processes.

• Identify issues and provide recommendations based on engineering and product insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a managerial role, or equivalent experience leading a delivery team.

• Proven track record of delivering mission-critical software to production and managing post-production results.

• Capable of building a roadmap, planning capacity, assessing trade-offs, and negotiating with stakeholders.

• Experienced in team prioritization and estimation processes.

• Proficient in providing direct developmental feedback and managing underperformance with support.

• Currently or recently involved in shipping production code in at least one stack layer: Multi-account AWS, self-managed continuous integration, Kubernetes, backend (Ruby, Python, etc.), GitOps release management, or internal tools and services.

• Practical experience in directing AI agents during real-world production changes.

• Understanding of CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and telemetry.

• A security-oriented mindset in all designs and builds.
