This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a senior team comprising 6–8 engineers
• Mentor engineers while promoting their career growth and performance evaluation
• Recruit engineers and cultivate a culture centered on high-autonomy engineering excellence
• Oversee technical aspects of C++ gameplay systems
• Provide guidance on scalable and maintainable architecture, cross-platform performance, memory management, and long-term technical sustainability
• Take ownership of the complete software development life cycle for live-service game features
• Advocate for automated testing, feature flagging, phased rollouts, and real-time telemetry
• Facilitate agile team processes, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies
• Manage incoming requests and oversee the team roadmap
• Remove obstacles for the team, mitigate risks, and ensure stakeholder transparency
• Foster alignment across engineering, game design, product management, program management/producers, UX, QA, and hardware teams
• Define technical strategy and establish project milestones
• Over 4 years of experience in a software engineering management position, with a proven track record of directly managing, coaching, and developing engineers in the gaming sector
• More than 6 years of practical software engineering experience in game development
• Profound expertise in C++ and familiarity with commercial or custom game engines
• Strong grasp of game performance, profiling, memory management, and multi-platform game architecture
• Experience in operating and maintaining features within a live-service game environment
• Knowledgeable in production quality, operational monitoring, phased deployments, feature flag management, and support
• Capacity to independently formulate technical strategy and team roadmaps
• Ability to navigate uncertainty and manage cross-team dependencies
• Proficient in leading game engineering teams utilizing modern agile methodologies
• Experience in conducting sprints, mitigating delivery risks, and establishing dependable release schedules
• Bonus: Experience integrating game clients with backend services, persistence layers, and iOS, iPadOS, and Android platforms
• Bonus: Background in console game development
• Bonus: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and reviewing agentically generated code
