Senior Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Lead and provide technical guidance within the engineering sector

• Establish and oversee one or more teams delivering software while adhering to and enhancing engineering best practices

• Manage, mentor, and develop engineers across mobile and backend platforms

• Define technical requirements, negotiate priorities, and oversee projects through daily scrum sessions

• Collaborate with product and design teams to formulate an ambitious yet achievable roadmap for executives and stakeholders

• Ensure reliable team execution utilizing objectives, data, KPIs, transparency, and ongoing improvement

• Promote the use of AI-assisted engineering workflows, encompassing development tools, documentation, testing support, code review enhancements, and developer empowerment

• Provide KPI, status, and metrics updates to executives and stakeholders

• Recruit, evaluate, and onboard diverse engineering talent

• Align stakeholders across Fanatics with actionable roadmaps

• Engage in architecture discussions, operational reviews, development workflows, and engineering quality practices

• Be open to occasional travel to Fanatics offices and other locations

⛳️ Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams

• 4+ years of experience in building highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems

• Knowledge of a wide range of design methodologies and the ability to deconstruct architecture for development by various teams

• Capability to scope projects with targeted timelines

• Skill in discerning essential, triageable, or omit-able features and negotiating with Product Management

• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences

• Familiarity with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Strong report writing skills and the capacity to gather, evaluate, and analyze pertinent information

• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment

• Capacity to work cross-functionally within an enterprise setting

• Preferred: experience in a start-up environment

• Preferred: strong background in mobile software engineering

• Preferred: experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and/or Compose Multiplatform

• Preferred: enthusiasm for sports cards, collectibles, or live commerce
