This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deploy, configure, validate, maintain, upgrade, and provide support for Managed Services Gateways across AWS, Azure, VMware, and Hyper-V environments.
• Verify requirements for compute, storage, network, firewall, and other platform components.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux operating systems, Kubernetes environments, and workloads managed by Rancher.
• Resolve issues related to containers, virtualization, networking, storage, VPNs, and application services.
• Utilize Windmill and other automation tools to streamline operational workflows and minimize risk.
• Act as an escalation point for intricate or service-affecting issues, taking ownership of incidents, requests, changes, and problems until resolution or escalation.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams for cloud, infrastructure, security, and networking.
• Document tasks, communications, and resolution details in ServiceNow.
• Develop and maintain deployment procedures, troubleshooting guides, standards, and operational runbooks.
• Provide technical expertise and knowledge sharing to fellow engineers.
• Assist with platform testing, patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, lifecycle management, and standardization.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and be available for after-hours or weekend work related to deployments, maintenance, upgrades, or critical incidents.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and/or military experience.
• 5–8 years of experience in platform operations, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or a related area.
• Advanced experience in administering and troubleshooting Linux operating systems.
• Practical experience in deploying, operating, and supporting Kubernetes environments managed via Rancher.
• Familiarity with VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Understanding of AWS and Microsoft Azure infrastructure concepts and platform services.
• 3–5 years of experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls or similar enterprise platforms.
• 3–5 years of experience with Cisco routing and switching or comparable networking technologies.
• Strong fundamentals in networking, including IPv4 addressing and subnetting, routing and next-hop determination, DNS, NAT, VLANs, firewall policies and requirements, VPNs, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience using Windmill or a similar automation/workflow platform.
• Proficient in using ServiceNow for incident, request, change, and problem management.
• Ability to troubleshoot across application, operating system, virtualization, cloud, and network layers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to independently manage complex tasks while balancing competing priorities.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with evolving technologies and industry best practices.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Preferred: direct hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks and Cisco.
• Preferred: experience with Docker, Git, Bash, Python, PowerShell, Terraform, or similar technologies.
• Preferred: experience in supporting immutable operating systems, edge platforms, or remotely managed gateway fleets.
• Preferred: familiarity with monitoring, logging, observability, and CI/CD practices.
• Preferred: relevant certifications in Linux, Kubernetes, VMware, Microsoft, AWS, Azure, Cisco, or Palo Alto.
