Senior Engineer – Lotus Notes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +29 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee, configure, and optimize multi-server HCL Domino environments to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and optimal performance.

• Act as the primary Tier-3 escalation point for issues related to Domino mail routing, replication, database repair, and server performance.

• Maintain, improve, and troubleshoot custom LotusScript, Formula Language, and Java-based Domino applications as well as .nsf databases.

• Support and manage integrations between Domino databases and external enterprise systems through REST APIs, web services, DECS/HEI, and ODBC.

• Administer the Domino Directory, ACLs, ID files, SSL certificates, encryption, and patch management in accordance with enterprise security protocols.

• Conduct audits of legacy databases, document workflow logic, and carry out data extraction and migration to Salesforce, Tavant TWOD, and other cloud platforms.

• Assist in application discovery, business logic preservation, and data migration strategies during the modernization of legacy systems.

• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and IT Transformation teams on initiatives related to cloud migration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience in the industry.

• More than 7 years of hands-on experience in administering, engineering, and supporting enterprise HCL Domino / Lotus Notes environments.

• Advanced knowledge of HCL Domino Server Administration from v9 through v12/v14, including NRPC/SMTP mail routing, clustering, and replication architecture.

• Strong expertise in LotusScript, @Formula, Java, and JavaScript development within Domino environments.

• Solid understanding of LDAP integration, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP, and both Windows Server and Linux/RHEL environments.

• Demonstrated root-cause analysis and analytical skills for resolving intricate issues across distributed database settings.

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without the need for employer-sponsored visa support.

• HCL Domino / Lotus Notes Administrator or Developer Certification is preferred.

• Experience with Domino modernization solutions and APIs, including Domino REST API, HCL Nomad, and HCL Volt MX is preferred.

• Familiarity with legacy database audits and cloud platform migrations is preferred.

• Proficiency in PowerShell or Python scripting is preferred.
