Senior Engineer – Civil & Structures

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Create civil and structural engineering solutions that support utility-scale renewable energy initiatives through estimating or project execution.

• Oversee the development of civil and structural design, including Basis of Design (BOD) documentation, engineering reviews, RFIs, and technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

• Examine engineering drawings, structural calculations, grading plans, foundation designs, and third-party engineering packages to ensure quality, constructability, and compliance.

• Collaborate with Owners, Engineers of Record (EOR), Estimating, Project Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, and Construction teams.

• Assist with civil and structural quantity takeoffs, value engineering, constructability reviews, and technical risk evaluations.

• Coordinate with geotechnical consultants, surveyors, permitting authorities, and equipment vendors.

• Provide mentorship to Engineer I, Engineer II, and CAD Designers.

• Manage multiple simultaneous projects while ensuring quality, adherence to schedules, and meeting client expectations.

• Enhance engineering standards, workflows, and design quality through ongoing improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is required, or the ability to obtain it within one year of employment.

• A minimum of four years of progressive experience in civil and structural engineering.

• Experience in supporting utility-scale renewable energy, industrial, EPC, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects.

• Proficiency in managing multiple engineering priorities across multidisciplinary teams.

• Knowledge of structural steel, reinforced concrete, pile and foundation design, site grading, drainage, hydrology, geotechnical coordination, and civil site development.

• Experience in Estimating Engineering, Project Engineering, or both.

• Proven experience collaborating with Owners, EORs, EPC partners, surveyors, geotechnical consultants, and construction teams.
