Senior Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Assist in engineering initiatives for renewable energy and transmission projects within the Engineering and Construction division.

• Conduct power system analysis, steady-state and dynamic modeling, as well as planning for generation and transmission concerning wind, solar, battery energy storage, and independent transmission/substation projects.

• Offer technical expertise in generation interconnection processes and operational necessities.

• Develop and validate PSSE, PSLF, and PSCAD models for solar, wind, and battery initiatives.

• Execute and review steady-state, dynamic, short-circuit, and various other power system analyses.

• Track evolving interconnection standards and inform stakeholders about anticipated effects.

• Evaluate adherence to IBR standards and regional modeling necessities.

• Create software tools to improve system reliability and enhance organizational efficiency.

• Collaborate with ISOs, utilities, municipalities, and regulatory bodies regarding new interconnections.

• Prepare communications and presentations, and lead meetings.

• Plan and coordinate projects effectively.

• Offer technical assistance to junior professionals.

• Carry out other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

• Over 4 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency with power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, TSAT, and GE PSLF.

• Solid understanding of power flow, stability, voltage regulation, and reactive support.

• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

• Valid non-CDL driver’s license.

• Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.
