This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Act as a strategic consultant for commercial and industrial energy clients.
• Foster enduring client relationships grounded in trust, responsiveness, and expertise.
• Oversee accounts throughout the customer lifecycle, including renewals, procurement strategies, and continuous energy discussions.
• Perform regular business reviews and relay information on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes.
• Assist clients in navigating electricity and natural gas purchasing choices.
• Analyze supplier proposals and procurement alternatives.
• Direct competitive RFP processes and negotiations with suppliers.
• Aid clients in comprehending market dynamics, capacity fees, transmission charges, and pricing risks.
• Support initiatives in energy management, demand response, sustainability, and cost-reduction.
• Collaborate with internal experts to provide market and risk management solutions.
• Create new opportunities through referrals, networking, chambers of commerce, trade associations, affinity partners, and existing client connections.
• Cultivate relationships with business proprietors, CFOs, operations leaders, and other key decision-makers.
• Enhance existing client relationships and pinpoint additional opportunities to meet their energy requirements.
• Present energy solutions and market insights to potential clients.
• Travel locally and regionally for client engagements, networking functions, industry conferences, and company meetings as necessary; typical travel may range from 10% to 50% with minimal overnight stays.
• Over 5 years of experience in consultative sales, account management, business development, financial services, insurance brokerage, energy consulting, client advisory services, or a similar client-facing role.
• Proven track record in establishing and sustaining long-term client relationships.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
• Capability to articulate complex concepts in an easily comprehensible manner for business decision-makers.
• Self-directed and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Willingness to travel locally for client meetings and to attend networking and industry events.
• Preferred: Experience in energy consulting, procurement, brokerage, utility services, or deregulated energy markets.
• Preferred: Knowledge of PJM electricity markets.
• Preferred: Experience in advising commercial or industrial clients.
• Preferred: Familiarity with electricity, natural gas, or energy risk management strategies.
• Preferred: Active participation in chambers of commerce, trade associations, economic development organizations, or professional networking groups.
• Preferred: Existing connections within Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, or other PJM markets.
